Father dies after falling through skylight at Utz potato chip factory roof
HANOVER, Pa. (Gray News) - A subcontractor died after falling through a skylight on the Utz potato chip factory roof.
According to the York County Coroner’s Office, 34-year-old Trever Staten was part of a crew that was setting up a scaffolding to work on the roof of the Utz factory.
Staten was on the roof and fell through a skylight and onto a loading dock area, about 30 to 34 feet below.
Staten was taken to the hospital, where he died.
According to his obituary, he was a father.
“Trever was a football coach for his son’s youth league,” his obituary read. “Trever’s greatest joy was spending time with his kids.”
Hanover Boro Police and the Occupational Safety and Health istration are investigating.
