Missouri woman airlifted to metro hospital after rollover crash near Longwood
LONGWOOD, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri woman was airlifted to a metro hospital after she lost control of her pickup truck before a rollover crash near Longwood.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, emergency crews were called to the area of southbound Highway 65 and Route BB with reports of a single-vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a 60-year-old Warsaw woman had been speeding southbound in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when she entered a curve and lost control of the truck.
State Troopers noted that the pickup ran off the right side of the road and hit a rock bluff, where it began to flip. The truck then hit a guardrail and crashed into the southbound lanes of Highway 65.
Emergency crews indicated that the driver was airlifted to the University of Kansas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Investigators noted that the pickup truck was totaled in the collision. No further information has been released.
