‘I just love that flexibility’ Child care by the hour coming to metro this summer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Families will soon have the option of daycare by the hour in Johnson County.

The Kids Inn Child Care Center is set to open in Lenexa later this summer. Its goal is to provide flexible and quality care for families needing a different day care system. Whether it’s weekend, evening, or hourly child care, Kids Inn Child Care is there.

Christina Ford is a busy mom of six who experienced not having enough options in day care. She opened the first Kids Inn Child Care location in Springfield, Mo., with her driving factor being to give parents peace of mind and a safe option for their children.

KCTV sat down with Ford to learn about what Kansas City parents can expect with the Kids Inn Child Care Center.

“We serve a multitude of families that look different, and I just love that flexibility,” said Ford.

Ford knew that she wanted to provide a unique day care model.

Ford and her team track data from Child Care Aware’s website. While looking at the numbers, she saw that very few centers provide weekend care in Kansas.

This “Drop in Daycare” will make it easier for parents to have a few hours to themselves without scrambling to find help.
