Kansas City man pleads guilty to bank fraud in stolen U.S. treasury check scheme

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City man pled guilty Tuesday to bank fraud involving a scheme to alter and forge stolen U.S. Treasury checks.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jevon Crudup Jr. schemed to defraud financial institutions, according to court documents. Crudup deposited checks that were altered and forged at ATMs using bank s of people he met online.

Federal prosecutors said he was given information, debit cards and PIN numbers because people believed Crudup would help them make money.

Court documents said Crudup ed at least 15 stolen and forged treasury checks, resulting in a loss of nearly $100,000.

He faces up to 30 years in federal prison without parole.
