Kansas woman wanted on drug-related charges found, arrested in Missouri
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas woman wanted on several drug-related charges was found and arrested in Platte County over the weekend.
Platte County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Sunday, May 18, indicate that Macenzie M. Bassett, 27, of Leavenworth, Kansas, was found and arrested on drug-related charges.
An arrest warrant filed by the Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office revealed that on Jan. 5, 2023, Bassett allegedly distributed a felonious amount of narcotics. At the time, she was found in possession of narcotics, including clonazepam, marijuana and more. A $75,000 bond had been granted.
However, after Bassett’s arrest in Missouri, court records noted that she was deemed a flight risk and her bond was upped to $100,000. An extradition order was issued on Monday for her return to Kansas to face charges of:
- Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance
- No Kansas drug tax stamp
- Possession of clonazepam
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
As of Tuesday, May 20, Bassett remains behind bars in Missouri. No further information has been released.
