BUCHANAN COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one woman died Monday after she crossed the center line of Missouri Route 6 and was involved in a serious crash.

According to a report, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on May 19 as a 49-year-old Clarksdale, Missouri, woman was driving east on MO-6. For unknown reasons, the woman’s Lincoln MKZ crossed over the center line and hit the back driver’s side of a Nissan Rogue going the opposite direction.

MSHP said the woman’s car continued off the side of MO-6 and hit a concrete barrier before returning to the roadway, crossing the center line again. It hit the back of a Ford F150 headed east before colliding head-on with a fourth and final car headed west, a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The crash caused the second car, the Nissan Rogue, to go off the side of the road and hit a concrete barrier before coming to a stop. Its driver, a 63-year-old St. Joseph woman, and one enger, a 9-year-old girl, were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. The car was totaled in the accident.

The third car, the Ford F150, came to a controlled stop and had only minor damage. Its driver was not injured.

The fourth car, the Chevrolet Tahoe that was hit head-on, was also totaled. Its driver, a 37-year-old St. Joseph woman, was not reported to be wearing a seatbelt and had minor injuries. She and her two engers, a 9-year-old boy with moderate injuries and a 12-year-old girl with minor injuries, were taken to an area hospital.

The woman driving the Nissan Rogue was pronounced dead about an hour after the crash at Mosaic Life Care. MSHP said her next of kin has been notified.
