KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The trial for a 19-year-old from Parkville accused of burning two Cybertrucks is scheduled to take place later this year.

A judge scheduled Owen McIntire’s federal trial to begin August 11.

A grand jury indicted McIntire last week on malicious destruction of property and unlawful possession of an uned destructive device. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges.

Federal court documents allege McIntire used a Molotov cocktail to set fire to two Cybertrucks at a Kansas City Tesla service center on March 17. He is accused of committing the crime while home on spring break.

Federal agents arrested McIntire in April on the campus of the University of Massachusetts in Boston where he attends school.

McIntire is out of custody on bond while awaiting trial.

He is scheduled to be back in court for another hearing in July.
