Man charged with murder in shootings of Overland Park woman, boyfriend outside Jewish museum
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The man accused of killing two staff of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. has been charged with murder of foreign officials and other crimes.
The American Jewish Committee confirmed that the two homicide victims were Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky.
Milgrim and Lischinsky were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum when the suspect approached a group of four people and opened fire, police said.
Milgrim was from Overland Park, Kansas, and a graduate of Shawnee Mission East and the University of Kansas. She was described as“warm and comionate, committed to peacebuilding and ionate about sustainability and people-to-people relations.”
The gunman, identified by police as Elias Rodriguez, 31, of Chicago, then walked into the museum, was detained by event security and began chanting, “Free, free Palestine,” according to law enforcement.
