SEDALIA, Mo. (KCTV) - The man who is accused of flashing both a convenience store clerk and a police officer in Sedalia has been arrested and charged with the incident.

Pettis County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Thursday, May 22, indicate that Cal A. Childers, 42, has been charged after he allegedly flashed his genitalia to multiple individuals, including a police officer.

A probable cause statement filed by the Sedalia Police Department revealed that around 8:55 p.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement officials were called to the Breaktime convenience store at 318 W. Broadway Blvd. with reports of a disturbance. They were told Childers left the scene after an argument and took a victim’s keys with him.

Law enforcement officials said they later learned that Childers had pulled his pants down and flashed his exposed penis to the clerk. He was later found outside the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Childers had been cooperative and explained that he did take the victim’s keys. However, he soon became irrational and took off his shirt and pants as he flashed his exposed buttocks at officers. He then attempted to bump one of the officers with his butt before he lunged forward and left a dent in a patrol vehicle.

Eventually, Childers was walked into the jail, despite his attempts to fall multiple times, before he was booked. As a result, he has been charged with assault in the fourth degree, sexual misconduct, property damage and stealing.

As of Thursday evening, May 22, Childers remains behind bars on a $500 bond for his misdemeanor counts. A court appearance has not yet been set and no further information has been released.
