WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (CNN) - Former President Joe Biden made his first public appearance since his recent health announcement.

The 82-year-old was greeted Friday by a crowd at Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport.

According to a source, Biden was in the area to attend his grandson’s graduation.

Former first lady Jill Biden reposted one of the videos from the scene on social media with the caption, “Thank you for the warm welcome.”

Last week, Biden announced he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, which has already spread to his bones.

The family said they are evaluating treatment options.
