Woman dies after being hit by 2 vehicles while walking on Interstate 70

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a woman was hit by two cars and killed early Saturday morning in Blue Springs.

According to a report, a 42-year-old Independence woman was walking on westbound Interstate 70 around 5:04 a.m. on May 24. She was first hit by a Mazda CX-5 and then again by a 2016 Dodge Ram.

She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. MSHP said her next of kin has been notified, but her identity has not been released.

Neither of the drivers reported any injuries, but the Mazda had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
