KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Our cool and damp Memorial Day weekend continues. Overnight temperatures will take a dip into the lower 50s, but we still stay dry waiting for our next batch of rain to come in on Monday.

A First Warn remains in place for Monday as off and on rain is expected. Our next batch looks a bit delayed with our new data coming in as showers will fight some drier air in the morning. Looking more mid to late morning, coming in from the southwest. Monday afternoon looks to have scattered rain, meaning not raining every second of the day, but there will be showers on radar in the KCTV coverage area into the evening. Also, if you do have outdoor plans, the rain looks to be rather light, but more of a nuisance. Our rainfall totals by the end of the day should only be a few tenths of an inch. If you are going to the Royals game, have your rain gear ready to go. I am not concerned with thunderstorms at this time. Due to clouds and showers around into the afternoon, our high temperatures will only reach the lower 60s. If we only hit 61 degrees, it will be the coolest Memorial Day since 1997.

A few lingering showers will be possible early Tuesday morning before the system finally exits the region. Highs on Tuesday stay cool in the 60s. Mainly dry Wednesday with a nice rebound back to 70 degrees!

Thursday still looks like a few more off and on showers, but no thunderstorms or severe weather expected at this time.

Our temperature roller coaster kicks back into full gear with temperatures swinging to the upper 70s and lower 80s for next weekend. Looking dry and mainly sunny at this time!
