INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - The Independence Police Department says all lanes of westbound U.S. 24 Highway have reopened after a crash closed them for several hours Sunday.
Around 11:09 a.m. on March 25, officers were dispatched to a serious-injury crash on US-24 in Independence. IPD said a 2015 Ford Fusion was driving east when it crossed into the westbound lanes and hit a 2007 GMC Sierra head-on.
The Ford’s driver was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to an area hospital along with three occupants of the GMC.
IPD is still investigating what happened.
