Volunteers repair Grinnell cemetery headstones after EF3 tornado

GRINNELL, Kan. (KWCH) - It has been one week since an EF-3 tornado ripped through the town of Grinnell, and there is still a lot of work left to cleanup the town.
However, volunteers have assisted every day in picking up the pieces including rebuilding the Cemetery of Immaculate Conception. The tornado caused significant damage to the headstones as they were knocked over causing some to break.
Ahead of Memorial Day, workers have been out restoring the headstones including putting them back at the gravesites where they belong. 12 News learned that over 70 headstones have been repaired just in time for Memorial Day when family will visit their loved ones.
