Community celebrates opening of resource center for sex trauma survivors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Community leaders and regional survivors came together to celebrate the grand opening of a new center meant to connect those with sexual trauma to local resources.
Value Unconditional, a faith-based nonprofit, says that on Thursday, May 22, leaders celebrated the grand opening of the new restorative services center. The event, which was hosted by the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce, brought leaders, advocates and survivors together in a shared mission - to help heal from sexual trauma.
“This ribbon cutting marks another chapter of growth for our organization and solidifies our footprint in the Northland,” said Geony Rucker, Founder of Value Unconditional. “This new center is a symbol of hope, not just for our local community, but for survivors across the greater Kansas City metro. I’m excited to see more people step forward to volunteer, , and us in restoring what trauma has taken.”
The organization noted that the new center, which can be found at 7509 NW Tiffany Springs Pkwy., expands access to trauma-informed care for survivors region-wide.

“Victims of sexual violence deserve to be ed with the trauma-informed, comionate care that Value Unconditional provides,” said Martin T. Rucker II, Chair of the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Having the victim services center available in the Northland will contribute toward improved healthcare outcomes.”
Attendees included Riverside Mayor Kathy Rose, Kansas City Police Department Officer Cooley, community partners and ers.
“We are simply thrilled to see the outpouring of from our community,” said Pastor Pam Brown, Director of Restorative Services. “This center represents hope, healing, and a place where survivors know they are not alone.”
