Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ set to leave economic impact on Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - North America’s longest-running and most-attended Broadway tour is set to leave a lasting impact on Kansas City. Disney expects “The Lion King” to bring $11 million to the metro by the time the show concludes at Music Hall Sunday.
The impact will be generated from travel, hotels, restaurants, parking, and other businesses.

The production is also employing more than a dozen Kansas Citians.
“There are 18 people from Kansas City in our show right now who are working just in wardrobe,” Jodessa Presler said. She is responsible for managing the wardrobe behind the scenes.
Erick D. Patrick is one of the many Kansas Citians employed.
“It’s unlike anything,” he said. “The words can’t quite describe the feeling.”
The Olathe South High School graduate stars in the production as Simba, the lead character.
