Brews and Ball: Garage Beer announces plan to acquire professional team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The popular Garage Beer, owned by the Kelce brothers, could soon own a significant stake in professional football itself.
Garage Beer, the lager company proudly co-owned by Jason and Travis Kelce, announced on Wednesday, May 28, that it is now in the “very” advanced stages of acquiring a “significant ownership stake” in a professional football team.
While the name of the team, city they play in, league, mascot and parking situation have not been announced quite yet, Garage Beer leaders said they can reveal that, “it involves football - the real kind, with helmets, touchdowns, tailgates, and of course, ice cold beers.”
The bold, somewhat mysterious move aligns with what Garage Beer calls its identity - deeply rooted in football culture and loved by fans who prefer their Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays filled with gridiron action.
With the Kelce brothers at the helm - two men who absolutely know a whole lot about football - company leaders said the move just makes sense.
“All we can say for now is: this is big. Like, ‘4th-and-goal-with-the-game-on-the-line’ big,” said a Garage Beer spokesperson - who may or may not know more than they let on.
More details, like the team name, city and how many beers will fill the stadium fridges, are expected to “probably, maybe, definitely” be shared within the coming days. As of Wednesday evening, no further information has been released.
