High school students can work out for free at Planet Fitness this summer

HAMPTON, N.J. (WTVM/Gray News) - Planet Fitness is letting high school students work out for free this summer by bringing back its High School Summer program.

According to the offer, the initiative is in its fifth year and offers gym access to students aged 14 to 19 years old at any Planet Fitness location in the U.S.

Pre-registration is currently open until May 31. Regular registration and club access will be available for students from June 1 through Aug. 31.

Those interested can online or at their nearest Planet Fitness location. Students younger than the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign an online waiver or accompany them at Planet Fitness to sign up.

“This program is the perfect opportunity for teens to stay off screens and stay out of trouble with so much extra time on their hands — not only to work on their physical health, but also their mental health by increasing self-confidence," a company spokesperson said.

Students can the Planet Fitness app to get a digital club and must work out at the location where they sign up.

“It’s a great resource for any child, but also can help give student athletes a leg up in the off-season, especially if their families can’t afford pricey camps,” the spokesperson continued.
