OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - Investigators in Overland Park are attempting to identify a man who was seriously injured during an attempt to walk across I-435.

The Overland Park, Kansas, Police Department says that around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, emergency crews were called to eastbound I-435 and Antioch Rd. with reports of a crash.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a driver had been headed east on the interstate when a pedestrian started to walk across the roadway to the north. The driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian as he crossed the interstate and collided with him.

Law enforcement officials noted that the pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. of the Traffic Safety Section continue to attempt to identify him as he did not have any identification or belongings on him at the time.

Investigators said the pedestrian has been described as an Asian man between the ages of 25 and 35. Anyone with information about the incident or his identity should report it to the Overland Park Traffic Unit at 913-327-6731.
