KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An Independence man has been charged with federal crimes for possessing more than two kilograms of cocaine and illegally possessing several guns.

The U.S. Department of Justice said 26-year-old Jacob N. Dodge was charged with participating in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.

Authorities attempted to arrest Dodge on May 23, 2025, after a controlled drug evidence purchase. When officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department tried to initiate a high-risk stop, Dodge “purposely struck the occupied vehicles with his vehicle,” court documents said.

Once Dodge was arrested, investigators searched his home and vehicle and found various amounts of and types of drugs. They also found more than $75,000 in cash and six guns.
