KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A pregnant woman who was critically injured during a collision in Kansas City remains in stable condition at a nearby hospital.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that around 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, emergency crews were called to the area of Montgall and Truman Rd. with reports of a 2-vehicle crash.

When first responders arrived, they said they found the driver of a green Chevrolet Equinox had been headed south on Montgall Ave. as they approached Truman Rd. The driver entered the intersection from a stop sign, but was hit by a westbound blue Nissan Murano.

Emergency crews noted that neither driver was injured in the crash, however, a pregnant front seat enger in the Chevrolet was critically injured. Both the mother and fetus are in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

KD noted that the investigation remains ongoing.
