Driver seriously injured after rear-end collision on highway north of Jamesport
JAMESPORT, Mo. (KCTV) - One woman was seriously injured after her vehicle was rear-ended along a rural Missouri highway north of Jamesport.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that just after 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, emergency crews were called to the area of Missouri Highway 6 and Missouri Highway 190, north of Jamesport, with reports of a 2-vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a 62-year-old Gallatin woman had stopped the 2013 Jeep Cherokee she had been driving; however, before she could turn left, the Jeep was hit from behind by a 45-year-old Trenton man in a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood.
Emergency crews said the Trenton man was taken to Mosaic Life Care with life-threatening injuries. The Gallatin woman was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators noted that everyone involved had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Cadillac was totaled as a result, while the Jeep sustained moderate damage. No further information has been released.
