App offers safe rideshares for metro area kids over the summer
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Rides to camp, the pool, summer activities and more can now be scheduled for metro area children through a trusted partner to local schools.
HopSkipDrive, a trusted partner to metro school districts like Leavenworth USD 453 and Basehor-Linwood USD 458 during the school year, has announced that area families can rely on the same safe, convenient transportation over the summer.
The transportation company noted that families who need rides for summer school, camps, extracurricular activities and more can now request a ride for children through the app. Families can request rides from the network of rigorously vetted CareDrivers.
HopSkipDrive indicated that CareDrivers are local parents, nurses, teachers and babysitters who have completed the certification process, including fingerprint and background checks. Additionally, parents can benefit from the Safe Ride Technology, which includes more than 50 features and initiatives for the safest possible ride.
“Kansas City families can trust our track record of over 5 million safe rides across more than 95 million safe miles driven by our trusted CareDriver network,” said Emily Uhland, Vice President of Customer Success of HopSkipDrive. “Summer can be hard with families scrambling to figure out rides for children. HopSkipDrive offers a welcome solution by connecting parents with reliable rides from a network of highly vetted caregivers on wheels, easing that burden. HopSkipDrive CareDrivers have stepped in to schools who need supplemental transportation options, and we know families have the same need, too.”
The company indicated that caregivers and parents rely on this technology to feel confident that their children are transported safely, reliably and on time.
“The staff is very understanding. If there’s a problem, they try to solve it immediately,” shared a father from Kansas City, Missouri. “The communication is great and most of the drivers are really nice. This service is very helpful for me, and my family and I’m grateful that they are here to help us!”
To book a ride, HopSkipDrive said caregivers should:
- the HopSkipDrive app.
- Use the app’s interface to arrange transportation for a child, an older adult or anyone who needs extra care.
- The platform connects parents with a network of qualified CareDrivers to schedule a ride.
- A ride must be scheduled at least 8 hours in advance. Once a ride has been booked, the app texts the parents with the ride details.
- Riders and CareDrivers one another with a multi-factor verification system that uses birthdays, names and code words for an added layer of security.
- Parents receive a live-ride text with updates when a CareDriver is on the way, when they arrive, when they depart, and when they safely reach their destination.
For a limited time, HopSkipDrive said families can enjoy $10 off a ride with the promo code SUMMER2025*. To the app, click HERE.
