Multiple reports of gunfire lead Kansas City police to latest homicide victim

Law enforcement officials are investigating a late-night shooting that took at least one life next to a park near Waldo.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police Department says a man has died after shots were fired Friday evening.

Around 8:45 p.m. on May 30, KD officers were called to the area of 82nd Terrace and Troost Avenue after several people reported hearing gunshots. As they were on their way, another caller reported there was a shooting victim at 82nd Terrace and Tracy Avenue.

The officers found a man in the street with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, where he soon died of his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.

Detectives do not currently have anyone in custody, but believe there was an argument in the street that led to the shooting.
