Kansas City Royals call up top prospect Jac Caglianone
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Help is on the way for the Royals.
The club is calling up top prospect Jac Caglianone, ESPN first reported on Sunday evening. The team confirmed the news Monday morning.
He’ll be with the team in St. Louis on Tuesday, per Anne Rogers with MLB.com.
The Royals (31-29) have lost six of their last nine games, including three straight series to the Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers. The Royals offense has produced more than four runs just once in that stretch.
The former Florida Gator and sixth overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft was promoted to Triple-A Omaha just two weeks ago, turning heads with five home runs in his first week.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reacted to the report on X (formerly Twitter) with a GIF.
In a corresponding move, the Royals sent reserve outfielder Dairon Blanco to Triple-A Omaha.
