Tonganoxie man seriously injured during rollover crash along I-70
LEAVENWORTH CO., Kan. (KCTV) - A Tonganoxie man was seriously injured after he hit a guardrail and caused his Jeep to flip along I-70 in Leavenworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that around 3:05 p.m. on Monday, June 2, emergency crews were called to an area of eastbound I-70 in Leavenworth County with reports of a single-vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived, they said they found Kenneth Crews, 64, of Tonganoxie, had been driving a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on the highway when he made an evasive maneuver and left the roadway. The Jeep struck a metal guardrail, which caused it to flip over. It remains unclear what Crews attempted to evade.
Emergency crews said Crews was taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. No further information has been released.
