CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two people were hospitalized Monday night after they were involved in a boating accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the incident around 5:45 p.m. on June 2 in the mouth of the Big Niangua arm at Lake of the Ozarks.

Troopers reported that the boat involved was anchored when the 19-year-old driver put it in reverse to try to avoid a crash with another vessel. As she did so, the anchor was dislodged and hit a 20-year-old enger in the head.

Both the driver and enger suffered serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
