(CNN) - The Food and Drug istration has upgraded a previous warning about the recall of tomatoes distributed in three states.

The FDA is upgrading an alert about the ongoing recall of brand name “H&C Farms Label” tomatoes because of a salmonella threat.

It’s the agency’s most severe warning about the tomatoes distributed by Williams Farms Repack LLC.

The tomatoes were distributed between April 23 and April 28 to stores in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

They were sold in either small packs of three or in packaging as large as 25 pounds.

The FDA first noted the company’s voluntary recall on May 2 and no illnesses were reported at the time.
