OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - A Johnson County man is sentenced to life in prison for killing his boyfriend in Edgerton.

Joseph Andrew Wacaster pleaded guilty to premeditated first-degree murder April 21, as part of a plea deal. He will not be eligible for parole until he serves 25 years of his sentence.

The charge stems from an investigation last year.

Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Edgerton on March 30, 2024. When they arrived they found a man’s body inside the residence.

The victim was later identified as 27-year-old Cade H. Blackburn. Prosecutors said Blackburn and Wacaster were in a relationship.
