(CNN) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says nearly 2 million window air conditioners manufactured by Midea are being recalled.

Officials say the recall is due to a drainage issue, which can allow mold to grow.

According to the alert, there are at least 152 reports of mold in the air conditioners. It also says there are 17 reports of people experiencing symptoms, like mold-related respiratory infections and allergic reactions.

The units were sold under several brand names, including Midea, Frigidaire and Insignia. They were also sold online and at major retailers, including Costco, Home Depot and Best Buy.

Midea is offering free repairs or refunds for the recalled units.
