Located next to the Missouri Department of Transportation’s district office, Missouri Highway Patrol Troop A has begun working out of its new digs on the state complex where vehicle inspection stations sit near the north end of 291 Highway and Colbern Road.

Troop A’s new home was announced in 2022 for the widening of 291 near Highway 50 and a new frontage road leading to Lee’s Summit High School, which is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025.

The 15 million-plus square foot building houses a holding and process facility, and new space for investigations with the ability to expand as needed. It also features improved technology, larger meeting spaces, and enhanced officer training areas.
