(Gray News) - A mother’s ashes were found in a message in a bottle on a beach in the United Kingdom.

Cara Melia, 24, told the BBC that her mom, Wendy Chadwick, was a single mom of five and never got to travel like she wanted before her death in February at 51.

Melia was originally going to spread her mom’s ashes on the beach, but her cousin and best friend came up with the idea to put the ashes in a bottle and into the ocean.

“This is my mum. Throw her back in - she’s traveling the world. Thanks, Cara, Oldham,” the note inside the bottle reads.

About 12 hours after Chadwick’s ashes were put into the ocean, Kelly Sheridan, who was visiting Skegness, found the bottle.

“Can everyone please share this far and wide in hopes it finds Cara from Oldham!! We found this lovely lady earlier today at Butlins, Skegness Beach. She’s been thrown back in the sea as requested.. happy travels Cara’s Mum,” Sheridan wrote in a Facebook post.

Melia said she is excited to see all the places her mom’s ashes end up traveling to.
