Woman accused of kidnapping, attempted murder found in Missouri prison

LIVINGSTON CO., Mo. (KCTV) - A woman accused of kidnapping and attempting to murder a man in Southeastern Kansas in January was found already behind bars in Missouri.

Livingston County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Monday, June 9, indicate that Kristin H. Fleischmann, 34, was found in the Show-Me State. She was already behind bars in the Chillicothe Correctional Center, serving time for a narcotics possession conviction.

Cherokee County, Kansas, District Court documents revealed that in January, Fleischmann was charged with aggravated kidnapping, attempted murder, aggravated battery and criminal threat.

A criminal complaint filed by the Cherokee County Attorney’s Office revealed that on Jan. 8, Fleschman allegedly kidnapped her victim, an adult male, attempted to kill him, threatened to kill him and severely injured him. If convicted, she could be sentenced to spend more than 124 years behind bars.

A first appearance has been scheduled in Cherokee County Court for 3 p.m. on June 17. As of Tuesday morning, June 10, she remains behind bars in Chillicothe. No further information has been released.
