Man charged in connection with KC sports reporter’s death faces new charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The case against a man accused in an alleged robbery scheme that investigators said ended in the death of a Kansas City sports reporter grows.

Adan Manzano. Manzano died while in New Orleans covering the Chiefs in the Super Bowl LIX in February. Investigators said he was drugged and robbed and left in his hotel room where his body was found.

Last week a district attorney also charged White with the following 15 new crimes:

  • 3 counts theft
  • 3 counts identity theft
  • 3 counts access device fraud
  • 3 counts money laundering
  • 3 counts conspiracy to commit theft

In all, White is charged with nearly 36 counts in three Louisiana Parishes. This is how the cases against him look at this point:

  • Orleans Parish: 
    • 4 counts Principal to Theft (Felony)
    • 3 counts Principal to Identity Theft (Felony) 
    • 2 counts Principal to Access Device Fraud (Felony)
    • 1 count Principal to Illegal Transmission of Monetary Funds (Felony)
    • 1 count Principal to Money Laundering (Felony)
    • 1 count Illegal Possession of Stolen Things (Felony)
  • Jefferson Parish:
    • 3 counts Theft (Felony)
    • 3 counts Identity Theft (Felony)
    • 3 counts Access Device Fraud (Felony)
    • 3 counts Money Laundering (Felony)
    • 3 counts Criminal Conspiracy to Theft (Felony)
  • St. Bernard Parish:
    • 1 count Theft (Felony)
    • 1 count Identity Theft (Felony)
    • 1 count Access Device Fraud (Felony)
    • 1 count Money Laundering (Felony)
    • 1 count Criminal Conspiracy to Theft (Felony)

White, Christian Anderson are each charged in connection with Manzano’s death.

A toxicology report from the Jefferson Parish coroner showed Manzano’s death was caused by a combination of Xanax and alcohol.
