Event organizers noted that the free, family-friendly event features three main components:

  • Stage Performances - A full lineup of cultural entertainment, music, dance and martial arts will bring the spirit of Asia to the heart of Kansas City.

As the only city in the nation to host a dragon boat race on a creek, Kansas City leaders said the location offers a uniquely picturesque setting. The event continues to spotlight KC as an emerging international city and has also ed scholarships for students in both the metro and in China.

Organizers indicated that team sponsorships are available for $500 with proceeds set to community cultural programs and student scholarships. The event is partially funded by the Neighborhood Tourism Development Fund of Kansas City.
