KU sluggers become first All-Americans in more than a decade for Jayhawks baseball program
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - The awards continue to roll in for the Kansas Jayhawks following one of the best seasons in program history.
Kansas baseball’s Brady Ballinger and Jackson Hauge became the first Jayhawk baseball players to be named All-Americans since 2009. Ballinger was named a Second Team All-American by the National College Baseball Writer’s Association and a Third Team All-American by Perfect Game. Hauge was voted a Third Team All-American by the NCBWA.
The Jayhawk duo are the first pair of Kansas teammates to be All-Americans in the same season since Josh Kliner and Issac Byrd in 1996 -- and the first KU players to be named All-Americans since Tony Thompson in 2009.
